At the end of this month, the 2022 Presidents Cup teams will descend on Charlotte, North Carolina for a showdown of nations at the Quail Hollow Club.
The 2022 Presidents Cup is played in a team format, pitting the United States against a team comprised of International players, although there are no European players on the International team. That rivalry is saved for the Ryder Cup which takes place in alternating years with the Presidents Cup.

Each team has 12 players, on Team USA 6 are determined by by specific qualifications and the remaining six are chosen by respective team captains. 8 players automatically qualify for the International Team, and team captains choose the final four team members.
So let's meet the 2022 President's Cup team members that will be carrying Vessel bags at the Quail Hollow Club.
2022 Presidents Cup Team USA
The United States has won 11 times in 13 events, plus one tie. The only win for the World team came in 1998 in Australia. The International team will once again face an uphill battle, as Team USA is led by current World #1 Scottie Scheffler and features 5 of the top 10 players in the world.

Scheffler is the first player since 1999 (David Duval) to win four PGA TOUR titles by the end of the Masters. Scheffler is joined by Patrick Cantlay, who just last month became the first player to defend his FedEx Cup title by clenching the BMW Championship trophy.
Qualifying Players
The top six U.S. PGA TOUR members who have earned the most FedExCup points from the 2019 A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier through the 2022 BMW Championship automatically qualify for Team USA.

Four of Love's captain's pick are Presidents Cup Rookies and two automatic qualifiers (including Scottie Scheffler) will be playing in the Presidents Cup for the first time.
Love is tasked with assigning pairings for the Presidents Cup. Rumor has it that Jordan Speith will play with Justin Thomas and Patrick Cantlay will pair up with Xander Schauffle.

2022 Presidents Cup International Team
The International Team has won just once in 13 attempts to capture the Presidents Cup. Only four players on the 2022 Presidents Cup roster have previous Presidents Cup experience. Eight members are fresh faces to Presidents Cup competition. Team captain, Trevor Immelmann was thrown an additional challenge when two would-be automatic qualifiers decided to join the LIV tour. Cameron Smith and Joaquin Niemann are no longer eligible.
